Colposuspension to anterior abdominal wall either by mersilene tape or rectus sheath fascial strip is a better operative procedure compared to colposacropexy by mersilene tape for correction of vaginal vault prolapse. It has better support for vaginal apex, restores normal vaginal depth and axis, prevents later development of hernia of Douglas pouch and finally it avoids intra-operative bleeding and post-operative low backache.
